The House System at Sacred Heart School is more than just a structure; it is the beating heart of our educational community. By nurturing unity, competition, and character, it plays a pivotal role in shaping well-rounded, responsible, and compassionate individuals ready to face the challenges of the future. The bonds formed within the houses last a lifetime, as students carry the invaluable experiences and values, they gain through the House System well beyond their school years. We have four houses Akash, Dharti, Paani and Pawan.
Structure of the House System
• House Allocation: Upon joining the school, every student and staff member is assigned to one of the houses randomly or through thoughtful consideration by school administrators. Siblings are usually placed in the same house to strengthen family ties.
• House Leaders: Each house is led by a group of house leaders, typically consisting of senior students and teachers. House leaders play a crucial role in organizing house events, guiding members, and representing their houses in various inter-house activities.
• House Points: The House System incorporates a points-based system to encourage active participation and excellence in academics, sports, arts, and extracurricular activities. Members of each house earn points for their contributions, and the house with the highest cumulative score is awarded the House Cup at the end of the academic year.
• Inter-House Competitions: Regular inter-house competitions are organized in various fields, such as sports, debates, quizzes, arts, and community service. These events not only promote healthy rivalry but also offer opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
• House Assemblies and Activities: House assemblies provide a platform for house members to come together, celebrate achievements, share ideas, and bond as a community.
